Gortahork is a small settlement on the northwestern edge of County Donegal’s coast. Increasingly famous for surfing and walking, the village is surrounded by stunning landscapes. Gortahork hosts the Samhain International Poetry Festival each year, and there are several excellent beaches in the region. Glenveagh National Park, with its 16,000 acres, is easily accessible from Gortahork and makes for an excellent day out.
