Visitors of all ages can enjoy Colwyn Bay’s sandy beaches, a promenade, a large park with a skateboard section, a leisure centre and bowling green, the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Eirios Park, numerous shops, pubs and restaurants (one on the seafront by the watersports centre, is owned by the celebrity chef Bryn Williams, who also owns Odette’s restaurant in London), as well as a theatre/cinema. With its proximity to North Wales’ numerous tourist attractions, Colwyn Bay serves as a great starting point for exploring the region. Several annual events, including the Triathlon and Forties Festival, are held in the area. Annually in Llandudno, the Victorian Extravaganza is also held. There is a direct route from London Euston to Colwyn Bay that takes about 2 hours 45 minutes, with stops at Milton Keynes Central, Crewe, and Chester along the way.
