Sixpenny Handley, or Handley as it is known, is a village in north east Dorset situated on Cranborne Chase ten miles north east of Blandford Forum and 4 miles from the Wiltshire border. Sixpenny Handley has a good selection of shops, pubs, a Post Office, a village hall and a number of recreational areas to enjoy. The village is close to the hamlet of Pentridge which hosts beautiful scenery, walks, footpaths, St Rumbolds church and a character Village Hall. Nearby Damerham can be found on the Hampshire side of the borders with Dorset and Wiltshire, and lies in an attractive Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, through which flows the River Allen. Sixpenny Handley is close to the New Forest National Park, with its swathes of purple heather and woodlands, as well as being home to the famous wild ponies.
