About where you'll be staying

Nestling in the East Cambridgeshire Fenland countryside is the small historic city of Ely, oozing with charm and beauty. Seen from afar is Ely’s beautiful cathedral with its unique Octagonal tower. The cathedral is also home to the only national Stained Glass museum in England. Visit Oliver Cromwell’s house where you can step back in time and see how his family would have lived in the mid 17th century, or visit Ely Museum, housed in the city’s old gaol. Ely also offers a beautiful waterside area on the River Great Ouse where you can enjoy relaxing boat trips, leisurely riverside walks, explore the antique shops, or visit the Babylon Art Gallery. Stop off at one of the local eateries for a light lunch, afternoon cream tea or to sample traditional ales and listen to music being played in the Jubilee Gardens. Ely also offer excellent leisure facilities which include a swimming pool, golfing, national cycling routes, and walking trails. Within a short drive from Ely local attractions include Wicken Fen and Welney Wetlands Centre or Burwell Museum with historic buildings portraying village life from the stone age to present day with cars, machinery, schools to village shops. The university city of Cambridge is just 17 miles, offering a wealth of places of interest to visit.
