The small village of Marston lies in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, with a Grade I listed Anglican parish church dedicated to St Mary, and of 12th-century origin. The village also boasts a church hall, the Thorold Arms public house and a fishery, as well as The Ramada Resort hotel. Newark-on-Trent is a market town to the north of Marston, in the Sherwood District of Nottinghamshire, boasting one of the finest Georgian market squares in the UK. Grantham is the nearest large town in the heart of Lincolnshire, with a fine Gothic guildhall and pretty riverside walks. There is a variety of restaurants, tea rooms and pubs with plenty of shopping opportunities, along with manor houses and walled gardens nearby to visit. Belton House, Wyndham Park, Grantham House and Belvoir Castle are among a few. Lincoln, Melton Mowbray and Stamford are all within easy reach, offering many interesting attractions.
