The small village of Gosforth sits amongst beautiful Lakeland countryside and consists of a scattering of traditional cottages, farm dwellings, and pubs serving good food. The village forges links far back into the history books and proudly shows the tallest, and oldest Viking Cross in England, plus the church holds many treasures not least the amazing Hogsback Tombs. Close by are the towering peaks of Scafell – England’s highest peak, as well as Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell and Muncaster Fell, whilst the nearby valleys of Eskdale, Wasdale and Dunnerdale provide breathtaking scenery.
