Burgh by Sands is located in the district of Cumbria, in the City of Carlisle. This parish include the communities of Longburgh, Dykesfield, Boustead Hill, Moorhouse, and Thurstonfield, which are situated near to the Solway Firth. There is a primary school, a bar, and a post office in Burgh by Sands. The Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site, which goes through the village, is designated to include all of the coastline between Burgh-by-Sands to Ravenglass. This picturesque area, which is rich in history, is home to St. Michael’s Church and The Western Tower, which is thought to date from the fourteenth century. While Thurstonfield has a lovely tiny lake, the adjoining community of Boustead Hill will take you past farmland and wonderful homes. There are many historical landmarks in and around this wonderful place.
