About where you'll be staying

Ulverston is an old-fashioned market town with a cobblestone central street. There are many unique stores, cafes, and pubs to explore, all of which serve up delicious food and cold pints of beer. A wide variety of restaurants, from upscale eateries to neighbourhood pubs, are available to satisfy any appetite. Ulverston is well-known as a festival town, hosting events like the Flag and Walking Festival, the Art and Music Festival, and the World-Famous Dickensian Christmas Festival, all throughout the summer and into late November. Stan Laurel was born in this town, and the annual foam pie fight held there holds the record for largest in the world. Great walks in scenic countryside with views of Morecambe Bay and the southern Lake District can be found all around the town. The deepest, widest, and shortest canal in the world can be found here, and it makes for a great afternoon stroll with a pub and bay views at its conclusion. The National Park’s various points of interest can also be quickly and conveniently reached. Sand beaches and excellent birdwatching can be found along the Furness Coast. The South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Lakes Windermere and Coniston, and the breathtaking views of Morecambe Bay from Birkrigg Common are all within easy driving distance and are great for families.
