The surrounding area boasts plenty of local attractions including the ancient monastic ruins of Fountains Abbey and beautiful Studley Royal Gardens (National Trust), Lightwater Valley Theme Park, the pretty village of Masham with its famous brewery and of course the cathedral city of Ripon. You will love exploring the impressive Brimham Rocks – 50 acres of huge rocks, weathered over the years into strange shapes giving rise to names like The Eagle and Dancing Bear. Both the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks are within easy driving distance, as are the towns of Harrogate, Knaresborough and the City of York.
