Newent, previously a Roman hamlet, is one of the most charming market towns in the Vale of Leadon. A variety of attractions include the half-timbered Old Market Hall, which dates from 1668, as well as historic inns, restaurants, tea rooms, and unique shops. Newent is located on the northern side of the spectacular Royal Forest of Dean, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with various hiking, biking, and horseback trails.
