Fence, Lancashire, is close to Nelson and Burnley and noted for St Anne’s Church. The village dates back to 1402, when it was called ‘Fens in Penhill’ The village has a pub, a shop, and lovely residential homes. Wheatley Lane is the next lovely community, and the two are known as ‘Fence’ for being sister settlements. Pendle Hill has the Churn Cough Reservoir and Alice Nutter Statue. Burnley’s shops, pubs, restaurants, and Thompson Park and Railway are nearby.
