The small village of Llandinam stands beside the River Severn and is steeped in history from even before Roman times. Today, the village has an excellent pub/restaurant and is surrounded by superb countryside – perfect for walking, cycling and mountain biking, fishing, birdwatching and kite feeding. Just 5 miles away is the historic town of Llanidloes, also built on the banks of the River Severn. It boasts a variety of architecture including timber-framed black and white houses, with the impressive old market hall being its finest example. There is a good choice of amenities in the town, including antique shops, pubs, restaurants, organic cafes and scenic riverside walks. There is also a riding school just five miles away. The renowned beauty spots of Llyn Clywedog, with its 236ft dam, and Hafren Forest, offering sailing and fabulous scenery, are both close by. If you would like to travel further afield then Caersws station is just 2.5 miles away and has excellent rail links to Birmingham and London. The beautiful West Wales coast, Elan Valley, Gregynog Hall and Cader Idris are just some of the many other attractions a little further afield.
