The World History Site of Conwy is unquestionably famed for its historical and architectural heritage, yet the town’s centre is a hive of activity. There are a variety of specialty stores, restaurants, in addition to the ancient festivals and fairs, musical concerts, galleries, and historical sights. Conwy Castle, designed by Master James of St George and built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, is one of the most spectacular examples of mediaeval military architecture.
