Leven, a small rural community in the East Riding of Yorkshire, is around seven miles from Hornsea and eight miles from Beverley. A cricket and football bowling amateur team, as well as two bars, are located nearby. A short drive will bring you to the mediaeval market town of Beverley, which features a Gothic Minster and a bustling twice-weekly market. Beverley has a long history and has a huge selection of eateries and shops. Spend the day at the Beverley Races, don’t forget! The East Coast seaside towns of Hornsea, Bridlington, and Scarborough, the Deep Submarinium in Hull (the 2017 City of Culture), York, the North York Moors, and more can all be reached in less than an hour by driving. Leven makes a good home base for exploring the area while on vacation.
