Grange-over-Sands has one of the mildest climates in northern England, nestled between the Lake District and Morecambe Bay. Grange-over-Sands was a small fishing village before the Furness Railway. Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which retain their charm and character, and Cartmel, the home of sticky toffee pudding, with its famous racecourse and the 4th best restaurant in the UK, L’Enclume.
