Snainton, a charming little village at the foot of the North York Moors, is a great base for exploring the popular coastal resorts of Scarborough, Whitby, and Filey. Snainton has two pubs that serve meals, a fantastic riding centre that caters to riders of all ages and skills, and a fantastic children’s playground. A driving range with a par 3, 9-hole golf course is nearby, as are numerous walks, cycle trips, and country drives. Visit Scampston Walled Garden, which has a renowned restaurant, or Wykeham, 4 miles away, for a day of fishing, or Dalby Forest, which has excellent walking, mountain biking, and “Go Ape” walks for the more daring! Pickering, with its famed steam railway, castle, and Beck Isle Museum, and York, with its mediaeval city, are both easily accessible.
