Dittisham, a charming village in the South Hams situated on the banks of the River Dart and surrounded by open farmland, is a popular tourist destination. Walk till you reach the waterfront amid the peaceful alleyways surrounded with charming stone homes and lush gardens. The quayside in Dittisham is frequently thought of as the centre of the community. Visit the Anchorside Café for breakfast and enjoy the breathtaking views of the river. On the dinghy pontoon, try your hand at some crab-catching with the youngsters. Go to the well-known pink Ferry Boat Hotel (or FBI as it is known locally). Reaching Greenway, the former summer home of the legendary Agatha Christie, requires ringing the ferry bell and crossing the Dart. There are several attractive treks and sailing courses available for outdoor recreation. Only a short drive or ferry ride away, the harbour town of Dartmouth has a variety of stores, a movie theatre, many of dining options, and even a castle. If you travel farther afield, there are many wonderful beaches to visit, including Blackpool and Slapton Sands, as well as popular cities like Salcombe, Totnes, and Brixham.
