Faceby is a village located at the foot of the Cleveland Hills, in the North Western corner of the North York Moors National Park. The characteristics of the village and the surrounding area consist of traditional Yorkshire dry stone walls, hills, woodland, farmland, heather and moorland. The village is close to the ruins of Whorlton Castle. Carlton-in-Cleveland and Faceby have two public houses, The Blackwell Ox and the Sutton Arms.
