The small Highland village of Muir of Ord, based on the North Coast 500, lies close to the Beauly Firth and is conveniently situated for easy access to the village of Beauly, town of Dingwall and the capital city of the Highlands, Inverness, some 15 miles to the east. Locally, there is Muir of Ord golf course and an abundance of nice cycle routes and walks including Ben Wyvis. Just a few miles away the village of Beauly offers a quality shopping experience, where visitors can find the finest Scottish tweeds, knitwear and crafts as well as a number of intimate hotels and cafes.
The whole area known as ‘The Black Isle’ has some of the prettiest scenery in Scotland with stunning glens where flora and fauna abound. Nearby Glen Affric, a National Nature Reserve, has been called the most beautiful of all the Scottish glens, and is an ideal location for walkers and cyclists with quiet tracks leading you off road and deep into the glen.
