The city of Lincoln boasts an impressive hill-top cathedral and plenty of other eye-catching architecture, and was also a filming location for The Da Vinci Code and coronation scenes in Young Victoria. Walk along the walls of Lincoln Castle and climb the tower, taking in views over the city and see a copy of the Magna Carta, which dates back to 1215. Lincoln has quirky independent shops in the cathedral quarter, which are great for shopping and picking up gifts for loved ones, as well as aviation attractions from World War II, while nearby Waddington is home to the Red Arrows and the Dambusters Inn and Heritage Centre.
