Ellesmere, a charming market town with Tudor, Georgian, and Victorian architecture, is located in Shopshire’s Lakeland, between the Shropshire Meres and the well-known Shropshire to Llangollen canal. This historic town, which was initially a fortified Anglo-Saxon village, has a splendid 15th-century church and was home to Thomas Telford during the late 18th-century construction of the canal network. Also, the town has a wide range of stores, taverns, and restaurants, as well as a lot of things to do on and around the nearby meres.
