Exton is a village set in the East Midlands county of Rutland, with The Fox and Hounds public house overlooking the tree-planted green. Oakham is the nearest town, boasting a combination of stone and thatched buildings, along with a range of shops, pubs, bars and eateries. There is also a local history museum, a 12th century castle and a 14th century church. The Rutland Water Nature Reserve offers watersports, a small water adventure park, birdwatching, a sailing club and fishing opportunities, with the Rutland Water Golf Course overlooking the lake.
