The quaint Welsh village of Llandwrog is situated between the long sandy beach at Dinas Dinlle, renowned for its family fun and watersports (mainly wind and kite surfing), and Glynllifon Country Park, described as one of Wales’ best kept secrets. Glynllifon Park was once Lord Newborough’s private garden and is today home to Grade I listed gardens and is a designated S.S.S.I. boasting Victorian follies, streams, fountains, wonderful tree trails, craft shops and The Glynllifon Mansion. Nearby is historic Caernarfon, a popular tourist spot with its magnificent 13th Century castle and well preserved town walls. During the season there are guided tours of the castle and special events including historic pageants. There is also a station for the Welsh Highland Railway, which passes through dramatic scenery. Caernarfon offers a wide selection of shops and places to eat and a golf course, and is close to the lovely beaches of the Isle of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula as well as the mountains and rivers of the Snowdonia National Park.
