About where you'll be staying

This charming community is about four miles from the majestic Pistyll Rhaeadr (a 240-foot-high waterfall), one of Wales’ Seven Wonders, in the lovely Tanat Valley at the base of the Berwyn Mountains. The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain and, more recently, the David Tennant-starring movie Nativity 2 were both filmed in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant. The community has three pubs, a café, a fish and chip restaurant, an Indian takeaway, two general stores, a newsagent, a post office, a butcher. Beautiful scenery surrounds it, offering walking paths for people of various fitness levels, such as the Berwyn Ridge Walk and a path to the top of the waterfall. Learn about the magnificent Snowdonia National Park, the National Trust’s Powis and Chirk Castles, the lakes Vyrnwy and Bala, and mediaeval Shrewsbury and Chester.
