Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the west of the Isle of Wight, the village of Totland offers visitors local shops, pubs and spectacular, unspoiled coastal scenery. The award-winning beaches of both Totland and Colwell Bay provide a wide range of activities, whilst Freshwater boasts a golf course and public swimming, both of which are situated along the Tennyson Trail. It is possible to take a chair lift from Alum Bay and enjoy some of the wonderful views across the sand cliffs, the famous ‘Needles’ chalk stacks and lighthouse beyond. The ancient castle, busy harbour and narrow streets at Yarmouth are also well worth exploring.
