Uppingham is a picturesque traditional Rutland market town that bares stone buildings offering a range of shops, traditional family retailers, galleries and tea rooms as well as country pubs, a weekly Friday market and an award-winning Heritage Trail which highlights the many historic features of the town. In the centre is the Market Square with the original fountain, where a temporary livestock market has been held every year since 1889.
