Just five miles away is the pretty market town of Ellesmere, which offers Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings, a lovely church and a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, and is surrounded by its famous meres. Twelve miles south of Cockshutt is the county town of Shrewsbury, and there’s plenty of other attractions, towns and villages within reach.
