Llanymynech is a settlement located about nine miles north of Welshpool, on the boundary of Montgomeryshire/Powys, Wales, and Shropshire, England. The Montgomery Canal runs past the settlement, which is located on the banks of the river Vyrnwy. The settlement’s main street runs for the most part down the middle of the border, with the eastern half of the village in England and the western half in Wales. To the south, the River Vyrnwy runs through it, and to the north, massive limestone cliffs. The cliffs form part of Llanymynech Hill’s quarry face, and the views from the top are breathtaking. The historic town of Shrewsbury is only 17 miles away and is well worth a visit at any time of year. No hen, stag or similar parties
