Askham is a small rural Nottinghamshire village just off the A57 and close to the A1. The village has a pub. The Wetlands Waterfowl Reserve is seven miles away with 32 acres of fishing lakes and woodland, along with an exotic birds sanctuary and animals. The area offers galleries and museums, while the Roman city of Lincoln, 17 miles away, has a cathedral and castle, and historic Newark, 15 miles away, has two castles, frequent antiques fairs, a fine Georgian market square and a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.
