This charming village is also situated on the National Cycle Route 81 and is home to a primary school, a Church of England parish church, a village hall, a pub, post office and small business park. Shrewsbury, one of England’s finest heritage towns, boasts cobbled alleys and half-timbered buildings, as well as many exciting events and festivals taking place each year, catering for every age and interest. Browse the shops, dine at the many cafes and restaurants and enjoy refreshing drinks in a lovely selection of bars and pubs. Shrewsbury Abbey was founded in 1083 and is home to the fictional Brother Cadfael. Shrewsbury Castle, an impressive sandstone building in beautiful gardens and grounds and is home to the Shropshire Regimental Museum. There is also Attingham Park nearby, Wroxeter Roman City and the large town of Telford, named after the renowned civil engineer, Thomas Telford. The ancient market town of Oswestry is slightly further afield enjoying shops, tearooms and a mixed Welsh and English heritage.
