The countryside surrounding Tarporley is perfect walking terrain, the famous Sandstone Trail, one of the best of the shorter long-distance trails in the north of England, passes close to the town. The village has also become something of a shopper’s haven. Further afield lies Chester, which has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in and around the famous Tudor ‘Rows’ and walks along the Roman Walls.
