Kingswood is a lovely suburban village in South Gloucestershire, resting near Bristol and Bath. The village is known for its Royal Forest, which is where it gets its name; The King’s Wood surrounded Bristol and was a royal hunting estate. The village is home to a handful of takeaways, a shop, a supermarket and a selection of bars, giving you everything you need for a self-catering break. With two fantastic tourist cities within easy reach, the village is an ideal base for exploring this scenic area. Just outside of the village is a picture-perfect Nature Reserve, Magpie Bottom, where plenty of peaceful strolls and bike rides can be enjoyed in the milder weather. Venture out into Bristol for a trip bursting with culture; spend an afternoon in The Georgian House Museum, or enjoy a peaceful day at Brandon Hill and admire the views of Cabot Tower. Slightly further afield is the historical city of Bath where you can take in the stunning architecture of the city and even squeeze in even more history with a day at the Roman Baths and The Jane Austen Centre.
