Five miles to the north of Warwick, in Warwickshire’s picturesque region, is the market town of Kenilworth. The massive mediaeval fortification, Kenilworth Castle, which withstood a well-known siege and later evolved into an Elizabethan palace over 900 years ago, is the town’s principal draw. As you stand in awe of the enormous keep, climb the towers to take in the breathtaking vistas, and imagine the grandeur of the Great Hall, you may relive millennia of history. The spectacular Abbey Fields, situated in the breathtaking valley of the Finham Brook with views of Kenilworth Castle, and the Norman and Gothic remnants of the Abbey are located further in the town. The surrounding mediaeval town of Warwick has a number of lovely parks, gardens, cafés, restaurants, antique stores, a racetrack, and hosts numerous festivals all year long.
