Matlock, a thriving Peak District town, and its neighbour, Matlock Bath, have drawn visitors to the area since the spa was built in the late 17th century. The Matlocks are located in the magnificent wooded gorge of the River Derwent and provide a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants, as well as a number of attractions such as Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. The cable car that carries visitors up to the Heights of Abraham provides breathtaking views of the gorge.
