Matlock, a prominent Peak District town, and its neighbour, Matlock Bath, have been bringing visitors to the area since the late 17th century. The Matlocks, which are located in the magnificent wooded gorge of the River Derwent, provide a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants, as well as a number of attractions such as Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. The cable car that brings visitors up to the Heights of Abraham offers spectacular views down the gorge.
