Matlock Bath is located in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, 1 mile from Matlock, surrounded by wooded hills and cliffs. It developed as a Spa town in the 1800s and is also famous for its connections with Sir Richard Arkwright and the cotton trade, often being referred to as the cradle of the Industrial Revolution.
