Wirksworth is a small, lovely market town on the outskirts of The Peak District, a short distance from Matlock. Wirksworth is rich of character, with numerous architecturally significant structures, especially its splendid parish church. With a local produce ethic, independent stores coexist with delis, butchers, and bakers. Visitors will love visiting the Puzzle Gardens’ historic “jitties” and courtyards, as well as the Heritage Centre and the wonderful surrounding landscape, which includes adjacent Carsington Water, Black Rocks, and the High Peak Trail.
