Froggatt Edge and Curbar Gap may be seen from the settlement of Calver, which is located in the Peak District National Park. Longshaw Estate, the National Trust’s Longshaw Estate, and Chatsworth House – the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire – are just a few minutes’ drive away from Calver. Additionally, the village of Calver contains a cafe, a petrol station, small supermarkets offering local products as well as a craft shop and an art gallery, and serves as a great starting point for hiking, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities. Only a mile and a half away from us is the village of Baslow, which has shops, bars, and restaurants, and Bakewell, the Peak District capital and home to the famed Bakewell pudding, has even more services. The old village of Eyam, with its pubs, cafes, and artisan centre, is just a short drive away, making a day out in the parish of Curbar accessible to everyone.
