Castleton, a village in the Peak District, is breathtakingly beautiful and sits at the head of the Hope Valley, right next to some excellent hiking terrain. Rich in intriguing history, the community is home to the Norman Peverill Castle Keep, which has a commanding vantage point and keeps watch over both the National Park and the settlement. The settlement is popular with hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts who want to follow the trails, ascend the Winnats Pass, or try caving. The stunning semi-precious stone Blue John, which can only be found and mined in Castleton, is recognised across the world for its tourist caves. Castleton has a fantastic selection of unique little gift stores, pubs, tea rooms, and a fantastic tourist centre with a small museum illustrating life in the Hope Valley.
