Castleton, a village in the Peak District, is breathtakingly beautiful and sits at the head of the Hope Valley, right next to some excellent hiking terrain. The stunning semi-precious stone Blue John, which can only be found and mined in Castleton, is recognised across the world for its tourist caves. Castleton has a fantastic selection of unique little gift stores, pubs, tea rooms, and a fantastic tourist centre with a small museum illustrating life in the Hope Valley.
