The charming, small market town of Bakewell has managed to preserve its lovely rural ambiance and has a nice assortment of stores, eateries, and bars in addition to regional farmers markets. In the heart of the town, a historic market hall from the 17th century stands alongside a contemporary recreation facility with a pool. The Peak District National Park includes Bakewell, which is ideally situated for visiting this stunning area. Both the craggy Dark Peak and the gentler limestone White Peak are easily accessible, and Britain’s top amusement park, Alton Towers, is only a short drive away.
