Between Mesham and Swadlincote in Leicestershire lies the picturesque village of Moira, a former mining community. The mining heritage of the area has led to the development of a few tourist attractions in the town, such as the Moira Furnace Museum and Country Park and the nearby Donisthorpe Woodland Park. There are a few different restaurants to choose from, including the Lakeside Bistro, Eden Bistro, and Railway Inn, and a convenience shop to pick up any last-minute items you might need. Swadlincote, not far away, is home to more sights and conveniences such Eureka Park, the Swadlincote Family Golf Centre, and Oakland Village. Leicester is located somewhat further away and is where you’ll discover the Leicester Museum and Art Gallery, Leicester Cathedral, and the National Space Centre.
